you held me tenderly...

One challenging aspect of depression and anxiety is that they can make it difficult to see and feel the love that’s around us. I know this to be true.
The overwhelm of sifting through hard things that have happened is like watching ants carrying bits of straw on a long journey to build a nest. One tiny step at a time, revisiting memories to re-see and rename and re-claim things, learning, learning compassion, kindness, facing hard truths…
It’s a walk that can feel profoundly lonely. I also know that blessings, grace, and moments of beauty and love are sent to us along the way~ food for the journey, to lift our spirits, to give us comfort and strength when we are weary, hope when we are lost, and guidance when we feel forsaken.
Like sun that breaks through after a storm casting light on a meadow, my hope is that on your journey you will see this light and feel its warmth and that it will fill you with faith that you are not alone, a belief that help comes in unusual ways and seeking, trusting, calling out tiny blessings… these things bring more.
And on one day, perhaps many going forward, I hope that you may re-see all the love that has surrounded you in surprising and tender ways. Starting with the incredibly unique and beautiful gift of your being.
And that this knowing will encourage you to fly.
With Peace & Love,
Kat~
Hosea 11:4
“I led them with bands of human kindness, with cords of love. I treated them like those who lift infants to their cheeks; I bent down to them and fed them.”
