The antidote is Love.
How do we transform pain and suffering into joy and light? I believe the antidote is love. The deeper truth is that love is bigger. It’s bigger than human cruelty and deficiencies.
Love is bigger than our deepest insecurities.
As a girl, I stood at the beach in the shallow water and laughed in amazement at the waves that kept coming and the tickling feeling of bubbling sea foam swirling around my body.
I’d wiggle my toes in the wet sand and breathe in that lovely sea air and laugh as seagulls flew around me. And the waves kept coming. To my complete joy and delight. Again and again and again.
This is how God loves us. Waves of love, waves of joy, waves of peace, waves of comfort, waves of blessings, waves of grace are sent to us again and again and again.
And like a little girl sitting on the beach letting sand fall through my hands… I am like this with the magnitude of love that comes my way. And it doesn’t matter. It’s okay. It’s okay that I don’t see and don’t receive all the love and blessings that are sent to me.
What matters is that I try more and more to see them. To hold the blessings in my hands long enough, to savor the good long enough that some of that love sinks into my open hands, flows to my heart, to my face and I breathe in a deep breath and look out at the ocean of goodness and beauty and smile in wonder.
I believe Love is how the ugly duckling becomes a swan. We are full of beauty and grace because the Creator breathed the miracle of life into us. That originating breath, its mystery, its love IS the source of our recovery from the challenges of being human.
Wave after wave after wave coming towards us… bringing love, light, beauty, joy, peace. May it wash through you, cleanse you, refresh you and fill you. With Love.
And may you receive and share with others.
Peace. Kat~
