Hiding inside of a rose...
Where do you go when the world feels insane? What do you do when someone is unkind? Is there a place that nurtures you? A space that feels lovely? Safe? Beautiful?
I am thinking about balance. Years ago I read a book on healers around the world and they all had different practices that involved balance. One image was of a shaman standing on a tall wooden post, at least 30 feet in the air.
The lesson for me is ongoing… engaging in the world to make a difference in our families, our communities, our work, requires courage and a higher sense of purpose.
There’s also the receiving part, renewing, restoring, recovering, returning… to breath and beauty and quiet and love.
And I wonder if we pause and ask ourselves where we are in the ebb and flow of life. Is it time to step out of our comfort zone and share our gifts in new ways? Or is it time to retreat into a quiet, lovely place of healing and renewal?
I think both go together. Like breathing. Breathing in and breathing out. Both are essential.
Today I found solace in a rose. I hope you do too!
Peace be with you.
