Bring a smile to your face...
During moments of inner struggle, often the hardest thing for me is to shift whatever story I am living in, stop, take a deep breath and tell myself one piece of good news. This can be an internal wrestling match of epic proportions. Can I find one thought of gratitude? One?
I am thankful for _____.
And now, this is a bold ask… because it requires taking one more step, even if it’s tiny -- can I find one more thing to be grateful for? One?
A trail of breadcrumbs of gratitude eventually become soul food when seen, tasted and savored enough.
And with the savoring of something beautiful comes delight… and I am saved by a smile, a moment of appreciation and affection.
Today may something as simple and beautiful as a daisy in a vase bring a smile to your face.
To see that many, many positive things went right—rain, sun, seed, soil, air… and then someone said “It’s beautiful. Let’s savor it a bit longer and put it in a vase.”
The vase, yes, even the vase… had a person who created it… who said, “I’d like to make something that holds beauty.” And then did.
Here I think of our Creator. Who made each one of us into a unique vase and filled it with the breath of life, the most exquisite type of beauty… beauty that is made to be honored, appreciated and shared.
When I close my eyes, breathe and feel this truth, I smile. It’s my hope that you do too.
Blessings on your day,
~Kat
